Travel Centres Launches Training for the Travel Industry

Travel Centres hosted the first of their online training workshops yesterday, Monday, May 11th. The digital marketing course, which spans five weeks, is designed to provide members with the necessary skill set to effectively navigate and promote their businesses online during the lockdown and beyond. The course has been designed specifically for the travel industry and is being delivered by Lisa Gibbons who is now responsible for all digital content and delivery at the consortium. Lisa has over 10 in-house marketing experience with travel companies and multinational brands.

As more restrictive practices surrounding ‘social distancing’ are likely to remain in place for some considerable time to come, Travel Centres believes that travel agents will need to become more creative in the manner in which they engage with customers and this will include them being more active than ever before across a wide spectrum of social media channels. The course content covers a comprehensive range of relevant subject matter including optimising your travel website, creating a strategic content plan, content distribution channels, understanding email marketing fundamentals and social media marketing.

Lisa is positive about the future of the industry and says that “Now is the ideal time to equip the travel industry with the digital knowledge and tools required to promote the travel services across a broad range of online platforms. Remaining positive, upskilling and using the resources available to us is a way of using this time effectively and we can help to position the industry for the comeback in the near future”.
